A new device was trialed at Wirksworth today prior to it being rolled out throughout Network Rail. The cloths seen are not part of the apparatus! They were to protect the parts that came into contact with the rail as the device had been sold to a customer. When used the distance from the treadle to the alarm is 200 metres giving time for the team to move into a place of safety.
