Progress Saturday 1st October 2016

The cooler weather didn't affect our visitors today as we hosted passengers from around the country in our warm, comfortable trains. We were also pleased to welcome visitors from other railways. One such group took the opportunity to try the local beverage in Duffield (and a packet of cheese and onion) prior to returning on the last train. Although our southern terminus experienced thunderstorms, the rain very kindly waited until two minutes after we locked up before drenching Wirksworth

More woodwork was undertaken for our coaching stock; Barry 55027 was fettled and Tim and team were making progress with valve connecting rods in the maintenance shed
Richard conducted several yard tours throughout the day
Enquiries for Santa trains continued and the model railway, buffet and booking halls all supported todays services
