We said goodbye to "Bubble Car" 55012 as it journeyed to the Weardale Railway for the summer and the dmu team accomplished much re-arrangement of the Yard to prepare for next week's events. There was significant progress with Iris where lining out commenced as illustrated within the confines of the Maintenance Facility. The team also completed the major "C" service of our resident "Bubble Car" 55006.
Thanks go to Alan Taylor for restoring and refitting mile post 137. These original Midland Railway lineside furniture items have largely survived over the many years they have been in place and it is good work that the 137 mile distance from St Pancras is now whole again.
The Booking Hall gathered more lunch customers in and the Pullman Buffet Car entertained a steady trade of visitors.
