Glorious weather down at Derbyshire's favourite branch line brought
visitors out in droves from near and afar resulting in very busy
trains throughout the day. Our Day with the Driver guests came from
Stockport and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The Pullman Buffet hosted
a birthday party and the catering team did a great job coping with a
continuous stream of customers right up to closing.
Our duty conscript mowed the grass and tidied the shelves in weigh
bridge. The model railway was open for part of the day and received a
number of visitors. Down the yard the Pioneer Diesel Locomotive Group
ably assisted by 'one man and his dog' worked on the E.T.H. of 33035.
The Class 20 Locomotive Society commenced painting the locomotive's
interior and the class 119's engine was heard bursting into life as
members of the DMU Restoration Group continued with their work on the
