A bitterley cold day which culminated in evening services to Ravenstor in conjunction with the Fireworks Extravaganza which was taking place at the National Stone Centre.
Around the station the booking hall had been open for business and the development of the model railway continued apace.
Down the yard, work continued after a period of absence on the Class 119 with some derusting being done by the duty conscript. At the same time, 51505's seats received some attention from a Steam Cleaner to try and smarten them up a bit. This task gave varied results but it is not surprising considering the seats are Regional Railways ones installed in the 1980s and have probably never been cleaned.
The Class 20 had a lone ranger working on it today and he managed to fit a new water pump all by himself!
As darkness fell, the services began (2 up and 2 down) and all were reasonably well loaded with passenger numbers up significantly in comparison to the same exercise last year, even though it was raining.
All in all, an excellent day.
