Progress Monday 2nd November 2009

Dear all

What a difference a day makes with the sun beating down on the blessed. A special tour of the whole line was organised for a representative of the East Midlands Development Agency to view progress as a result of their grant aid. It is fair to say that he was impressed with the amount of work achieved and that none of us had gone on a world tour - yet. L51 was loaded and left us to return to Ruislip allowing the Sturgeon to be positioned on the Car Park for a load of concrete sleepers. Over 100 were loaded ready for placing at Duffield next week.

Paint has been applied to the Carriage Headquarters as a start to obliterating its shipping origins and the Works Train has been marshalled for a prompt departure for Shottle and Duffield tomorrow.

Quite a small team today but many thanks to Hylton and Graham for bringing the essential elements together. It was particularly impressive to see Iris reach the head of steel at Duffield.
