I really don't know how we do it apart from skill, dedication and great management. Today witnessed our first foray into the world of feature films where we played a small part in the making of what has all the hallmarks of a blockbuster. The film company belongs to Ken Loach and this particular production is directed by his son Jim. It is entitled "Oranges and Sunshine" and if you Google the film you will see the story line. Our part was a journey from St Pancras to Nottingham in the 1980s and was delivered with consummate aplomb by Lee, Hylton, Graham, David and Phil - a wonderful job wrestling high praise from the film company.
During this excitement we also hosted a test customer who fitted seamlessly into the day's events. Our advertised Ruston shunter welcomed a prospective purchaser aided by Graham and Mike to demonstrate that it actually works.
At the end of the day the Gatwick Express stock was berthed in Platform 1 attached to LJB so that the rather mildewed side can be attended to over the weekend.
A most satisfactory and extremely profitable day that will allow further progress with the Duffield project.
Once more I take my hat off to all who made today happen which required some deft work as the original planned date was advanced by five days. Friday the 13th was good for us.
