It is quite a busy time at the moment, with plenty of operating days keeping us occupied. Yesterday was the Blue (3 train) timetable and it was pretty reasonable considering it was a day ahead of the 4 day weekend. Today, being Good Friday was a Green (4 train) day and again the passenger numbers were respectable. To be honest, Good Friday is always the poor relation of the Easter weekend in terms of trade but this year it was well worth doing. In previous years it has rained or simply been very quiet. The Circus people arrived to set up for their role this weekend and the Egg Hunt was popular with those who took part. It was passenger numbers at Duffield which surprised today, especially with a random coach party turning up unannounced. We obliged of course!
Down the yard, repairs took place to the Met-Camm three car set ahead of the weekend. A new heater was fitted to 50170 and one of the charging voltage regulators was swapped. No.1 engine on 50253, which has been isolated for quite some time, was looked at and the fault seemed to be traced to the niphon plug which carries electrics for the engine from the vehicle to the engine components. The engine has ran fine all day today!
